Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the proven, most effective, first-line therapy for OCD and phobias. One of the most impactful factors of successful ERP treatment is a well-trained therapist who can foster a supportive relationship while encouraging you to step into discomfort. I am that therapist. I understand that you are not going to benefit from an exposure unless you fully understand why you are doing it. I understand that you are not going to benefit from an exposure unless you can locate some sense of safety. I understand that you will not benefit from an exposure unless you feel supported and cared for while you're doing something that is difficult. I also understand that ERP requires structure and also requires an ability to find flexibility and creativity. You can read more about how I do this with my clients here:
If you notice frequent worry thoughts about many different parts of life you may be experiencing generalized anxiety. If you notice having frequent and distressing worry thoughts about what others might be thinking about you then you may be experiencing social anxiety. I can help you develop a different relationship to your anxiety so you can feel more empowerment and resilience and less distress. I utilize mindfulness, body-based techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you find your path toward relief from your anxiety.
Panic attacks are very uncomfortable experiences in your mind and body. Often, people will find themselves in an urgent medical setting to seek help during a panic attack. Unfortunately, once someone has experienced a panic attack it can feel so scary to have another one that anxiety actually increases and the distress seems to become more pervasive. I can help you develop a different relationship to your panic attacks so you can feel more empowerment and resilience and less distress. I utilize mindfulness, body-based techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you find your path toward relief.
